Controversial

 Some readers easily understood the in-your-face taunt of the people who have been using this word (amongst other euphenisms) to describe the president. Other readers just could not get past the 'n' word and ignored the last half decade of racial hatred for the president because of the color of his skin. A number of readers felt uneasy and offended by the cartoon and felt it was their duty to ignore the messsage and just 'kill the messenger'. There were some readers who were just confused....
As my mentor, John Fischetti taught me...."You can't please everybody, everyday with every cartoon...so don't even try. Just draw the cartoon that speaks to you and let the chips fall where they may."
OR as my other toon teacher, Dick Locher used to say, "If yer taking flak, you must be on target."
