Killed

The Washington Redskins are in the Superbowl and the great debate of their team name becomes a political football. The debate grows about the validity of using a stereotype slang term as the name of a professional football team. This was the first time I submitted this cartoon for publication. The reason for killing this cartoon was.......the editor actually said........ the cartoon is RACIST. I replied- so - what is your point? HE said we can't publish a racist cartoon. I asked, 'not even if it's attacking racism?' Rest assured that the readers of the Spokesman-Review will never have their racist beliefs challenged.
